On October 31st there will be changes to how you can dispose of DIY waste at local recycling centres. The changes being that you will no longer be able to take such waste to the local council dumps. Both Luxborough Lane and Waltham Abbey centres will no longer accept local DIY waste such as hardcore or construction materials. Vans both large and small will no longer be able to enter and neither will you be able to take trailers in with more than one axle.

This is part of an effort by the council to reduce the “man with a van” style rubbish clearance and trade waste of which is perfectly understandable yet potentially short sighted as without doubt it will cause an inconvenience to local residents who are using the service legitimately and will also most certainly lead to an increase in fly tipping.
